1958

Authorisation for establishment of a Settlement at Lara

 

1959

St Laurence Park, Lara, opens with 4 cottages on 3 October 1959.   Fr Tucker, aged 75, leaves Carrum Downs and becomes the first resident at St Laurence Park.

 

1960

Planting of 2,500 trees and shrubs completed at St Laurence Park with help from Geelong Grammar boys [1]

 

St Laurence Park grows to 17 cottages, including a staff house and Father Tucker’s home [2]

 

1968

Tucker Court” opened at St Laurence Park, Lara, providing self-contained flats for the elderly [3]
