Anderson, David and Margaret Frances
One of the early pioneers of the Brotherhood. They were members of the parish at Adamstown. They moved to Melbourne at the request of Father Tucker late 1934.
David (who was an engineer) worked on the the hostels in Fitzroy to get them in good order, before moving out to Carrum Downs in 1935 with their young family.
They helped build a combined house, shop and chapel. The shop was the first in Carrum Downs and was to provide both settlers and locals with groceries, fruit and vegetables and odds and ends.
David died in 1948. Margaret continued working for the Brotherhood for nearly 50 years. She helped Father Tucker launch "Food for Peace". Margaret died 26th April 1978. See the Companions of St Laurence March-June 1978 Newsletter for more details about their dedicated work for the Brotherhood.
Austin, Richard
Richard Austin heard Father Tucker speak on Food for Peace at a church service in Lara and told Father Tucker he would like to join it (Handifeld, J 1980, Friends and Brothers, p.184).

The gift of Avalon historic homestead and 80 acres of land facing Corio Bay by Mr & Mrs Richard Austin, announced in December.
1963
Richard Austin made a trip overseas which embraced a journey through India on behalf of Food for Peace Campaign (Handifeld, J 1980, Friends and Brothers, p.184).
1973
Richard Austin, Foundation member of the Council for St Laurence Park, officially opened Hume Court (BSL 1973 Annual Report).
2014
Died May 2014.
