1958
The Melbourne Younger Set was started in 1958 when the Auxiliary Organiser of the Brotherhood Miss Nell Rawlins, asked Beth Pitman ( who was at that time working for the Brotherhood) to get her husband, Ian and a few other of their friends together to form a young group who would raise money for the Brotherhood.
1960
Four new Auxiliaries commence - Croydon, Sunshine, the Sewing Group and Wangaratta (the first country Auxiliary), giving a total of twenty-one
BSL Notes June 1960 (no 142) called for knitters to knit for the shops and the BSL annual fair. Wool was supplied to the knitters. Knitters were asked to knit baby clothes or small items such as socks, tea cosies, shawls, as adult clothing was too expensive to make and sell.
1962
Show put on by the Melbourne Younger Set " A Night in Nineveh" to raise money for the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
