Since its inception in 1930, the Brotherhood of St Laurence has been working to improve the lives of disadavantaged people. We aim to have a national voice on poverty and disadvantage. We believe that tackling poverty effectively requires the integration of social and economic policy, so that all Australians have the capacity and the resources to lead rewarding lives.
There have been many initiatives auspiced by the Brotherhood that have resulted in positive change, many of which have become part of the Australian social fabric.
