1981

Task Force on Shared Methods of Responsibility established "to explore ways and means by which there can be more effective sharing of mutual responsibility amongst the various people associated with (the Brotherhood’s) work".  This was "the basis for later development of the staff manual detailing rights and obligations of BSL employees" (Gilley 1988 "Inequality in the Workplace", Brotherhood of St Laurence, p.11).

1983

The Brotherhood Staff Manual was completed as a guide to all staff “in implementing fair, equitable and predictable personnel practices” (BSL Annual Report 1982-1983, p.7).

Executive Director presented Proposals for Adoption of an EEO Policy within the BSL to staff (November) (Gilley 1988 "Inequality in the Workplace", Brotherhood of St Laurence, p.12).
